Anand Mahindra appointed as Chairman of Telangana Skill University
Hyderabad: Eminent industrialist and chairman of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Telangana Young India Skill University.
The State government on Thursday issued an order to this effect. It is stated in the order that Anand Mahindra will continue in the post for one year.
The new Skill University is considered the brainchild of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Along with the recent approval of the Skill University Bill by the Assembly, the Chief Minister has recently laid the foundation stone for the Telangana Young India Skill University at Mir Khanpet in Kandukuru mandal of Rangareddy district, aimed at improving the skills among the youth.
Training will be given to the youth in 17 skill development courses and employment opportunities will be provided in private companies. This university will be expanded in the coming period to train lakhs of people every year. The varsity activities will continue in the building of Engineering Staff College of India at Gachibowli till the completion of its own building at Begarikanche.
